They sure like to tell on themselves...

My phone keeps wanting to turn "its" into "it's", and I don't always catch it in time.

...they do it SO consistently.

I’m surprised nobody has posted here asking when the “all lives matter”, “blue lives matter”, or “white lives matter” banners will go up. maybe they go to bed before 10pm?

They don't post here. This is the Rolls-Royce of comment sections.

The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.

Did they hook up some turbines to the Yawkey family graves to take advantage of the spinning? I think they could get a renewable energy tax credit for this.

That's a pretty tasteless comment. Not all of that family was racist and they've contributed to improving more peoples' lives in this city, state, country, and maybe the world than you.

I didn't know that the point of charity was oneupmanship and not goodwill.

Is a very important contribution to the world.

The virtue signaling has now hit critical mass.

Bright eyed, bushy tailed, and perpetually aggrieved.

It's not virtue signaling if it has impact. Already we can see you upset which means people who need this repeated are going to see it again.

Can you define ‘virtue signaling’?

up
Voting closed 0

Any message I disagree with!

up

Virtue Signalling = Any message that creates a societal expectation that he needs to act like a human being who respects the rights of other people.

They put up a sign and will act like they've 'done something' without putting any effort or money to actually do anything about the issue their sign has 'raised awareness of'.

When the Sox start actively hiring, investing, and going out into minority communities maybe it will mean something. Currently the Sox do a lot in suburban communities and little to nothing in their own neighborhood and the city in general except for visiting children in hospitals.

...show us on the doll where "virtue signaling" hurt you.

Also, are you mad that you made the photo gallery above, or mad that you didn't make it?

throw that in the pile of weird right-wing scare phrases along with “anti fascist”

the Fark comments section. You might have seen me on Gizmodo over the years under my day-job name, but I rarely appear in comments anywhere but here these days, maybe once in a great while on good ol' Chowhound's Boston board, alas now a shadow of its former self.

I know right? It gets so tiresome to hear everyone just yammering on and on and on about how the police need to stop murdering uppity Black people in cold blood. /s

Black Lives Matter is a nice PR stunt by Red Sox management. A better gesture would be to compensate the black victims of rape and child sexual abuse at the hands of a former Red Sox trainer who molested dozens of young black boys at Fenway Park.

1. It happened in the 90's at a different place of employment and had no connection to the Red Sox organization.

2. He was an attendant who picked up jockstraps and take-out food and not a team trainer.

3. He was fired immediately after the Sox found out.

In conclusion, your what-about-ism score for this round is 2/10.

They could do both, and other things too.

The hue of Red Sox upper management, meanwhile, remains whiter than a gallon of Cumberland Farms 2% milk. The team has clocked 119 years without an African-American manager. This ownership group gave us Bobby Valentine following the 2011 season, two years after America’s first black president took office. Tom Werner’s old pal Roseanne would have been a better hire. -- Tom Speros, Boston Herald June 2020

The BLM banner is just an insurance policy to cover the lack of diversity in the front office and manager's office. It's similar to the lawn signs in the leafy, lilly-white suburbs at the mansions of those who wouldn't dip their little toe into Roxbury, Mattapan or JP. Does John Henry have a BLM banner on the $50m megayacht where the young servant was found dead a few years back? Will he change the yacht's insulting, Native American name Iriquois that he misappropriated for his own pleasure, worth more than the GDP in some developing nations?

Oh, Fishstench. You tried.

"Iroquois", which you misspelled as "Iriquois", is not really a Native American name. It's a Frenchification of an insulting name applied to the Haudenosanee people by the Huron. Now take your participation trophy and sit down.

The oneupmanship here is strong. But I have to tell you, if you’re white you’re complicit. I don’f care how woke you are. All white people suck.
