Boston says it's mailed out most requested ballots to date

The city reported this afternoon that it's mailed out 80% of the mail-in ballots residents have requested for the November elections, with the rest to go out soon.

Please call 617-635-8683 if you don't see movement on trackmyballotMA.com this week.

Although you can mail your ballots back (with the postage-paid envelope), you can also return it to a city drop-off box. There's always one in City Hall and there will be one at each of the early voting locations between Saturday and Oct. 30.

Actually tried it the other day. Was immediately put on hold, left there for about ten minutes, got a recording saying how busy they are call back in a few minutes, then hung up on.

I’m leaving town on Friday and won’t be back until after the election. Me and my roommate are trying to figure the best way to get my ballot to me and back. Really expected better service here in Massachusetts...

Try emailing. They're pretty responsive. I got an email back within a day.

Really disappointed.

Requested a mail-in ballot (via the mailed request flyer thing I got in July) for both the primary and general. Never showed up, so I voted the primary easily at Matthews. Gonna try to vote at Fenway this weekend if there aren’t too many folks queuing up unsafely. Just curious why I never heard back after mailing back my request to vote remote.

Even more curious why the city has only managed to send 80% of the requested mail-in ballots, this close/late to drop-dead dates.

My wife and I both requested a November ballot (along with a primary ballot) back in July. The primary ballot came reasonably quickly but our status for this ballot is marked "Pending" which means "Application received, ballot not yet mailed". Just rechecked my status as I'm writing this and it's unchanged.

My actual polling place is directly across the street and only serves a single precinct so, push comes to shove, I could vote in person if the ballot never arrives. But I'm also in the high-risk population and I would much rather mail in my ballot or drop it in a drop box with no one nearby.

For what it's worth, I'm in Roslindale. Not sure if geography makes a difference but I know of several people here in Ward 20 that have gotten their ballots as much as a week ago.

Edit - today, Oct 15th, my status was changed from Pending to Not Returned, so it looks like its at least on its way of out the door of city hall.

There is a thread going on on nextdoor, and I'm seeing people all around me in Brighton reporting that they've gotten theirs.

Hope your's (and mine!) arrive soon!

Actually got through to the Boston Election office just now (only on hold for 5 minutes!) and was told my ballot was mailed out today. (The website has not been updated however, so make of that what you will.)

Still haven't gotten our ballots (also in Allston/Brighton). Might try early voting on Saturday since it's in the neighborhood. I'll get that vote in one way or another.
