Bostonian reacts in the most perfect Boston way to her donut shop being mentioned on national TV

A WBZ reporter went to Doughboy Donuts in South Boston for reaction after soon to be former Mayor Walsh mentioned that's where he got his most recent cup of coffee before going down to Washington:

I'm betting Marty goes there for the donut and the coffee, too. The independents tend to do much better for both than the nasty approximations found at Dunks.

Magoo’s position is that Doughnuts from Dunkin Donuts taste like dognuts. Magoo.

I will defer to your dognut expertise.

What is your basis for comparison?

You can be hysterically funny, whether intentionally or not! When Covid-19 is but a distant memory I suggest we have an outdoor U-Hub convention someplace in this city. I, for one, want to meet Magoo (and the saintly Mrs. Magoo)!

I like to think Magoo is actually Adam.

Not me.

That's exactly what you would say if...

And if it is.. Adam has threatened a few times to kick himself off the site :p

what happened to Elmer though?
are Elmer and Magoo the same?
Elmer disappeared round same time Magoo appeared

But I think Elmer is no longer with us.

Magoo once said he was Elmer and every so often slips in a line the elder cartoon character might say. I think they're the same. Or at least hope so.

I used to have Elmer on my Facebook.. we knew a few of the same people.

But facebook is long gone, and a quick search reveals either a hidden or deleted profile.

All I remember is he lived in Lynn.

If you know his last name too and Google "Elmer Last obit" the chances are above 90% that you'd find his obituary (assuming that his has in fact passed.)

If anybody knew the guy's real name that might work, but there are rarely published death notices or obituaries for cats.

BTW, Elmer is on Twitter as well, and although there's been little activity since summer 2019, he did tweet a comment just last month.

I live right near here and the folks at doughboy are so legit. Doughnuts are awesome, pizza is awesome, broasted chicken is awesome, sandwiches are awesome people are very hard-working and sweet and know how to move that line at lunch time.

I don't feel like this meets any particular stereotype, but I guess I'm missing something.

Broasted Chicken is a very Boston thing. Think Freddy Parkers. May they rest in peace.

I dunno. The first time I had broasted chicken was in the coffee-shop/restaurant of a motel in Gila Bend, AZ.

Oh how I miss Freddy Parkers.

I was expecting her to cuss or something.

thinking that anybody outside Boston cares that the Sec't Labor is Mahty.

Does anyone know if Patrick Fandel, liaison in the Mayor's Office to Dorchester, is related to her?
