Harbor boat crash kills one, injures seven
Victim identified as Jeanica Julce, 27, of Somerville.
Live Boston reports seven people were injured and then rescued from Boston Harbor early this morning after a crash near Castle Island around 3 a.m.
The Coast Guard reports troopers on a State Police boat found the body of the eighth person, a woman, off Castle Island shortly after 10 a.m. None of the other seven suffered injuries considered life threatening.
Coast Guard Sector Boston watchstanders were notified just after 3 a.m., Saturday, of a center console vessel with eight people aboard colliding with a day board marker, sending all eight people into the water.

In addition to Boston Police, the Boston Fire Department, the Coast Guard - including a helicopter crew from Cape Cod - State Police, state Environmental Police, Massport Police and Boston EMS responded to the crash.

I have never seen a boat so
I have never seen a boat so mangled. Thankfully 7 of the passengers seem to be “ok”. My heart aches for the family and friends of the woman who lost her life.

Other than running lights are there any other marine regulations about operating at night like speed or is that basically at the boater's discretion or local markings like in the day time?
