The patrons of this bus line up single file along East Broadway at the L Street stop without any signs prompting them to do so. Very civilized!

When I lived in Southie I would go to beginning of the route. The L street stop is 5 blocks from the first stop on East 1st. This line is for rookies.

Impossible. Boston dot assured me ridership is down and that is why the modernization of summer st has been delayed/cancelled (?)

Some older Southie residents at a public meeting last month were insisting that "no one takes the bus" in Southie and that "bus lanes would ruin the neighborhood." Were they lying?!

Magoo waited two hours to get on this bus. Magoo needs to find a new place to get a hairdo. Magoo.

Do people usually get on foot waiting for one?
I've twice walked from Packard's Corner to Kenmore without a train stopping for me.
Not sure that helps

Unless your plan is to just walk to the Silver Line at World Trade Center (which, FWIW, is a bit over a mile from L St. and E. Broadway). The bus is going to be full so you won't be able to get on.
If the buses are full by the time they get to L & Broadway (or you just see a long line there), you're probably better off walking to the City Point terminal rather than hoping there will be space on the next one; it's maybe a 5-minute walk away
For those saying people should just walk

For those saying people should just walk (to a different stop or to their destination), please remember there are riders who cannot walk those distances. You can't tell by looking at people - some people have disabilities that don't lead to using a cane or wheelchair but still limit their ability to walk more than a very short distance. It's shameful that this is the regular state of affairs for that bus.

Are all Southie bus lines this crowded?

There are three others -- 9, 10, and 11, and I'd like to know if this problem happens on all of them. If I saw this line for the 7, I'd walk down to one of the others.

The 7 goes through the seaport to downtown. The 11 goes there too but through the south end after it winds through the whole neighborhood. So I would say that because of the new businesses there it is more crowded. I preferred it, because i could walk to my office from the last stop.

Not really and it also depends on the time of day - I take the # 10 @ 6:15 am and none of the stops @ L & Broadway are crowded or the buses - my bus comes to the Medical Area in Boston while the others go different directions but the # 7 is a direct shot down Summer Street going to South Station/Financial District it seems now (according to the picture anyway) that this line is picking up again with passengers but they aren't the only ones who need and deserve good service that route runs every 5-10 minutes while the others run every 30-45 minutes - when everyone moved here they liked the beaches, parks and "easy commute to downtown" maybe its time for some of them again to look an see if they can rearrange their schedule and maybe go into work at different times - just a thought
