Boston Police report arresting an employee at Seed, 401 Centre St. in Hyde Square, for the Glock with a bullet in the chamber and two magazines loaded with a total of 35 bullets they say he brought to work yesterday - two days after a dispensary in Roslindale was robbed at gunpoint.
Izaiah Carvajal-Morales, 24, of Brockton, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition, police say.
When he showed up for work, around 4:30 p.m., his manager confiscated the gun and placed it in a locked locker until police arrived.
Innocent, etc.

How many more armed pot dealers are roaming around?
Oh, millions, and they're all heading right to your house

He was hardly a dealer. He was a (probably a bit higher than minimum wage but not by much) employee at a legal business.

I am not defending this guy illegally arming himself, but let’s at least acknowledge that strapping up is not a completely insane response to the news that businesses similar to your employer are being violently robbed.
Yeah, if this is in reaction to the other place getting robbed

then I can definitely see where he was coming from.
Still a pretty dumb plan, though.

No, actually, it is completely insane, OK. Banks get robbed at gunpoint all the time and we don't encourage tellers to pack a Glock. Let the robbers get the cash and get out. Last thing I want when I go into a legal weed shop is to get caught in the middle of a freaking gunfight, ok.

And these places make bank so there's no reason why they cannot hire a private security company. No need for regular employees to carry guns. Let the real professionals who are paid and trained to use those weapons.
Furthermore, you never want a regular employee to do such security. Ever. That person gets injured or killed, it's gonna cost you a lot more in insurance and lawsuits than it would have to let the robbers walk off with 100k.
Most places just let the criminals have whatever they want, its safer, and more cost effective (really..)

Gambling your life in an indoor shootout to protect your employer's wealth is about as insane as you can get.
