The Globe reports City Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson (Roxbury) had her phone taken during a mugging near Atkinson Street Saturday night as she walked around to get some first-hand Mass and Cass knowledge in advance of considering the mayor's proposal to make it easier to remove tents and other shelters there.

If that happened in a TV show we'd call it lazy writing.

Southampton Street is Her District Boundary

I got slightly confused on how close I was to Hyde Park Ave a few weeks ago when I was coming down Tacoma Street. Whatever.
This person is a damn Boston City Councilor and she is quoted in the Globe story as saying:
"she had “never come to this area” before and was taking photos as part of her research into how the issues plaguing Mass. and Cass have spread to other corners of the neighborhoods she represents in District 7, which includes Roxbury, Dorchester, the Fenway, and part of the South End."
Are you kidding me? She is a Boston City Councilor who has this hellhole bordering her district and she has never been there?
Then again, this person posted a picture of Ho Chi Mihn on Twitter say what a great leader he was. She took it down after I told here that Mr. Ho was partially responsible for the large Vietnamese population in District 3 and part of her district because Mr. Ho's forces had killed lot and lots of their family members.
Mensa isn't calling her anytime soon with an application I bet.

The same with Flynn. He never visited until he was "Acting Mayor" and got to make a scene of it. It's In his district!

… gives an indication of the commenter’s disturbing views on ableism, it indicates an inferiority complex. Nobody since the Reagan era brings up that silly organization with a straight face. Nobody except apparently Costello the Great (legend in his own mind).
Tell us John Boyo, do all city councilors seek you out in your swamp for directives on what to post on their websites?
Ho, ho, ho!

Gotta say, when I see a politician doing the thing I wanted them to do, it doesn't strike me as a smart move to start criticizing them for doing that thing (even if I would have preferred that they do it earlier). But I guess Mensa probably isn't calling me anytime soon either.

Imagine, in 2023, still blaming Ho Chi Minh for the war and not France and the United States. Couldn't be me. Is MENSA calling you, John?

I didn't assign blame for the war. I only said that the NVA and Viet Mihn killed a lot of people. A lot of those people had affiliation with the SVA and were against the North. A lot of their relatives ended up in Dot. There are now a lot of former South Vietnamese soldiers living out their lives in three deckers and not in Ho Chi Mihn City.
Did you ever notice any Vietnamese flags you see in Fields Corner (a/k/a Little Saigon) are for South Vietnam and not the north?
I know MENSA isn't calling your tired ass.
You fool.

Mensa used to include the names of new members but I don't think they publish the Bulletin anymore, at least not an physical version.
They do cold calls now.

They share phone bank space with Men’s O’ Pause*. That’s why Costello is confused
and bewildered. He was actually being recruited by a men’s lace curtain Irish crocheting/Celtic drumming group and jumped on board without a second look. He spent all the quarters he has been saving up for the Pope’s poor box on a non refundable membership.
They may do him some good nonetheless. Remember him in your prayers.

Who ever is the blame for the war, pointing out it may not be Ho Chi Minh or is doesn't change the broader point that thousands of Vietnamese-Americans in Boston do not appreciate Ho Ch Minh and thus would not be a fan to hear their representative praise him.
And this is coming from a Vietnamese-American that does recognize Ho Chi Minh likely did had good intentions (and may ultimately be vindicated as long as Vietnam continues to grow more prosperous). At the same time, it is also understandable why people like my parents does not appreciate him. Why? Should my mom be thankful for confiscating the family farm, ruining the family store, and throwing the whole family into a "reeducation camp'"? Is it wrong to want to see competitive multi-party elections?
Yeah, I personally get the US are not the enlighten fighters of democracy and freedom and everything. I'm just saying it is also fair that many would not appreciate Ho Chi Minh and thus would not be a fan to hear their representative praise him. Singling out that point calls out John, but it also calls out thousands of Vietnamese-Americans in Boston. A lot have very reasonable and understandable reasons to not like him.

I did you, I found out about this by picking up the Herald today, as it was the cover story.
Then I read the story. When I got to the point where they said the reaction of Ms. “Defund the Police” was to get law enforcement involved, I started laughing.

There's something really wrong with you if that was your reaction, regardless of any sound bite of a comment from the victim that you may have heard about from a source with an ax to grind and a questionable relationship with the truth.

Or is there something wrong with someone who wants to get rid of law enforcement (okay, make it a voluntary job, since when you don't get paid when the force is defunded, you'd be a volunteer) running to the cops when someone nicks their phone?
She has admitted that there was a police report. I don't see how there's would be a police report if the police weren't involved.
