One of the signs that went up around Jamaica Pond yesterday after the Boston Public Health Commission confirmed a toxic bloom of blue-green algae that can make people sick and kill dogs.

No, you can not swim in the pond, algae or not. Never has been used for swimming.
It's just for boating which are available to rent.
Personally, I'm going to avoid letting my dog go for a dip right now just to be safe. She'll fight me on that one tho. Lol...

Where would you drain all the water to? It's just a tad deeper than the Public Garden lagoon.
