Knife-wielding moped thief's tiredness proves his downfall at 4:30 a.m. in Roxbury, police say
Boston Police report arresting a Dorchester man on charges he used a knife to keep possession of the moped he'd just stolen from somebody on Warren Street in Roxbury early Saturday.
According to police, Michael Williams, 38, stole somebody's moped early Saturday. The victim had a tracking device on the moped, though, and tracked it to 238 Warren St. in Roxbury shortly before 4:30 a.m., but that when he tried to get his bike, the thief pulled out a knife and threatened him with it, so he retreated and called police.
Officers were able to locate the suspect sleeping in a box truck. As officers gave verbal commands for the suspect to exit the vehicle, he pushed one of the officers and a struggle ensued. Officers were able to place the suspect into handcuffs, and recovered a knife from his right pant pocket.
Williams was charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, receiving stolen property worth more than $1,200 and witness intimidation, police say, adding he also had three open warrants for his arrest on other charges.
Innocent, etc.

It's the safest time to be
It's the safest time to be robbed at knifepoint
The cops actually cared?
The cops actually put some effort into a stolen moped?
I've heard numerous stories of people having their expensive bicycle stolen and the cops do nothing. Even when, like this moped, the owner knows where the bike is, has seen it, or sees it on Craigslist.
I'm surprised.
It’s the knife, not the scooter
The cops still come when you tell them someone threatened you with a knife. If he stays jailed for the knife stuff, that’ll do way more to prevent him from stealing other scooters than just arresting him for scooter stealing.
I think the police responded
I think the police responded to victim was concerned about getting stabbed.
Awesome
So many great decisions all in a row!
