State Police report having to shut Rte. 128 southbound in Danvers this afternoon after the rear of a truck somehow smashed into the Endicott Street overpass, destroying the truck and sending the driver to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

MassDOT inspectors were called to the scene to make sure the overpass was not compromised by the crash.

The driver of a Frugal Furniture rig showed how it's done this morning on the Fenway off ramp from Storrow Drive outbound, delivering what passing photographer Charley A declared a solid storrowing.

And promptly gets his truck wedged under the Silber Footbridge. MassDOT reported the driver at least had the grace to storrow himself on the inbound side at 5:30 a.m., rather than at the height of the morning rush hour.

Live Boston reports on one beaut of a storrowing, inbound around 7 a.m. in which another driver learned that Storrow bridges - in this case the Dartmouth Street footbridge - aren't getting out of your way and will shred you. State Police managed to get the peeled-back carcass onto Clarendon Street to await a tow.

Sage was among the drivers who had plenty of time to appreciate the sheer majesty of the way the driver of an 18-wheeler managed to a) get on Storrow Drive inbound and b) jam his rig right into the underside of the Mass. Ave. Bridge shortly after 3:30 p.m.

Dot Malone came across some storrowing action on Conley Street, off Morrissey Boulevard in Dorchester around 8 a.m. - a driver manage to wedge his or her truck nice and tight under the Red Line's Braintree branch.

Claire Sadar reports that sometime this morning, the driver of a big rig coming up from Wolcott Square in Readville wedged his truck right into the underpass for the train tracks there, learning why there's a sign at the end of Meadow Road out of the old Stop & Shop complex that warns truck drivers not to turn left. Needless to say, the underpass, decades old and built of stone, won the battle.
